Here is another card that I made for Party Time Tuesday and was supposed to be posted next week:
I used LilyBee - Catching Fall - paper + die cut and American Crafts Delight Flowers - Swing - from the November'10 Scrapcetera kit. Pink Paislee Hocus Pocus Glitter Stickers from their October'10 kit. American Craft cardstock and May Arts ribbon from my stash. The die cut was propped up using U-cutit foam by Glue Arts.

Party canceled
My second exciting news is not exciting anymore... I was picked for the Design Team at Party Time Tuesday, but Kristie and Diana decided to take the blog down on January 1st. I'll really miss them, as I greatly enjoyed their challenges.
This was supposed to be posted in January, as my first DT post. The challenge was to make a Birthday card based on a sketch (which unfortunately I cannot post). Here is my card:
I used American Craft cardstock, My Mind's Eye - Lounging Around - paper from the Country Home July'10 kit I won at Color me Miki, K&Co. - Wild Saffron - flower, Offray ribbon, SRM birthday sentiment (on the ribbon), and EK success bright large gemstone stickers.
I'm so sad the Party has been canceled!

Apron Strings Guest Designer
First up for my exciting news for the new year is that I am a guest designer for the Apron Strings blog. I love Lori's kits and I got to play with the January'11 Smaller than a bread box kit.
Here is my first layout, featured here. I made it with the My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy - packet.
Everything you see is from the kit -- except the title, which uses American Crafts Thickers brown Poolside foam stickers.

Happy Holidays
I have lots of exciting news I'm not allowed to tell, so I'll just show another recycled card I made:
LilyBee paper from the November'10 Scrapcetera kit. For the stitching I used the new Sew Easy piercer, mat, floss and needle -- the name says it all, I'm loving it!

Fun
Here is another layout from our day at the science museum. I made one for each boy instead of combining them, just in case I decide to separate the LOs in the "random photos" album into individual albums for each boy. I have categories of albums: travel, birthdays, and "random photos". When I started the "random photos" album, I was going to scrap only family pictures (i.e. both boys together), but sometime throughout this last year I started adding LOs of them individually. Now I just scrap all the pictures I like ;)
I used the Country Home July'10 kit I won at Color me Miki. I love the American Crafts - Tree House - collection! Alphas from my stash. I based this LO on the sketch challenge #2 at Get Picky, but I did not have time to post it before the deadline...

Sharing my luck - GIVEAWAY WINNER
I will be sending my box of goodies to:
Thanks to all who played along, and watch out for Jennybean's box at her blog Life of Reilly.

- What a fabulous idea! I've been lucky enough to win several blog candys and I'm trying to clean out my stash. I would probably include a lot of stampin up stamps in my giveaway since I don't use those much after I switched to acrylic stamps!

Cookie tin
I've been collecting cookie and ice cream tins for a few months now, just in case I had time to make holiday gifts. To try my hand at it, I made one last weekend for some friends that looked after my kids while Dada and I attended a wedding. I used LilyBee papers from the November'10 Scrapcetera kit.
I adhered the paper and hemp with my GlueArts Glue Glider Pro using an Extreme adhesive cartridge (it was the perfect width for lid rim!). All embellishments were attached either with GlueArts Extreme adhesive squares or GlueDots..
Here is a view of the layered box flower I made for the top:
And I filled it with Dada's peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.

1,2,3 card challenge
This week's challenge over at Party Time Tuesday is to make a card with the following recipe:
1 image
2 designer papers
3 different types of embellishments
This is my take:
American Crafts - Heat Wave - paper from the Apron Strings August'10 small kit. Balloon eyelet from from Eyelet Outlet & Brads. SEI Happy Day glittered paper, SRM birthday sticker, ribbon and cupcake paperclip from my stash. The little mouse image is a sticker leftover from one of the baby scrapbooks I bought years back.

Science Museum
My brother and I took the kids to a science museum last year. Some of the stuff was way too advanced (as they were 3.5 and 1.5), but they had a great time playing there. Here are two layouts from that outing:
I used Sassafras Lass papers and large alphas. The rest are odds and ends from my stash. Dictionary page came in the Scapcetera November'10 kit. This LO is based on the Page Maps sketch for the my little shoebox layout contest:
This next LO was started with the above sketch in mind (can you tell I really liked it?) but it took a turn of it's own.
Girls Paperie paper - On Holiday - from the Mosh Posh July'10 kit. Alphas from their May'10 and February'10 kits (I tinted gray letters with a blue chiseled marker). I used my new Martha Stewart scoring board to make the accordion flower - so much easier than folding it by hand! I also figured out how to glue these flowers on: I used a couple of Glue arts extreme adhesive squares on the background and placed the flower on that (instead of trying to add adhesive to the flower).

Happy Thanksgiving!
My house is smelling of peanut butter cookies - the ones Dada just baked :)
It has been feeling like fall in Florida these past few weeks, which is very nice for a change!

Fish tanks
The layout below is for this week's the Apron Strings 5 on Friday. The challenge was to create a LO with only 2 sheets of cardstock, 2 sheets of patterned paper and 1 set of stickers. This is what I came up with:
For this LO I used 2 sheets of Cosmo Cricket - Snorkel - paper, Sassafras Lass alphas and felties, and two sheets of DCWV cardstock - all from my stash. I used the following sketch from the Apron Strings Sketches on Thursday challenge:
You can sort of see the resemblance :)

Easel challenge
This week's challenge at Party Time Tuesday is: Create an easel card. It was my first, and this is what I came up with:
the easel:
inside:
Papers and embellishments from the American Crafts - Tree House - Apron Strings June'10 small kit and the Country Home July'10 kit I won at Color me Miki. SRM birthday sticker and BoBunny rub-ons from my stash; Jenni Bowlin Butterfly Banner Stickers from the Mosh Posh June'10 kit. I followed the tutorial posted, but I used a width of 4.5". I have to say that without a scoring board it was indeed a challenge to get it scored and folded correctly. Needless to say I had to buy one and I am anxiously awaiting the delivery truck...

Kindle Reading - Bronte
One of my favorite things about my Kindle is how easy it is to read classic works. I'm making my way through The Works of Anne, Charlotte, and Emily Bronte - I've read Agnes Grey, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (my favorite so far), Jane Eyre, The Professor (second favorite), and now I started Villette. They are fun to read and I'm really enjoying the e-reader experience.

Sharing my luck - GIVEAWAY
I've been very lucky this year. I've won blog and Facebook candy from Cosmo Cricket, Glue Arts, Apron Strings, Color me Miki, and Echo Park. I've even come across a desk at the side of the road with two stacks of drawers 14" wide, which Dada is currently refinishing for my scrapbooking use! I want to thank my lucky stars and also thank all those wonderful companies that sent me amazing products. So I decided to share my luck with a GIVEAWAY!
Julie-style, I'm packing a box with a bunch of scrappy stuff I can spare. I'm including products from all the merchants that sent me free stuff and some other things that are just not my style. I'm also including some incomplete alpha sheets that might match the ones in the winner's stash. Oh, and an "Enveloper" that I do not need anymore.
Now there is a twist, so make sure you agree with ALL the rules before you leave a comment.
Here are the rules:
I can't wait to pass the box over to you! Good Luck!!!

Here are the rules:
- To enter leave a comment on this post telling me if you have been lucky this past year and what you would include in your box if you were to share your luck.
- If you win, you agree to "share your luck" by hosting this giveaway on your blog (or a friend's blog). Make sure you post the rules and link back to the blog post where you won your box.
- Advertise your giveaway (ScrapScene, Facebook, message boards).
- If you win, you agree to pack the box you receive (or a similar one) with scrappy stuff of at least the value of shipping cost. Give hints in your post as to what will be in your box. Re-gifting is totally acceptable, as what you don't like someone else might love!
- You also agree to pay the shipping charges to the winner of your giveaway. (i.e. I pay to ship it to you, then you pay to ship it to the next person.)
- Open to US residents only (so shipping charges are not too high).
I can't wait to pass the box over to you! Good Luck!!!

Best of Friends
Lori has another fun challenge over at Apron Strings: to use what is on the craft table. Unfortunately, I had a clean table - as this card used the scraps from the last layout I made . All that was left on my table was a photo and the boarder for the Sassafras paper I used - which you can see in the LO below. However, I had to dig into my scrap bag to come up with this:

Apples & Honey
Last year we had a very quiet Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year. We had dinner at home and ate apples with honey for dessert - for a sweet new year. The layout below are all the pictures I got, but I think the LO captured the mood and the tradition.
I used a mix of Sassafras Lass papers - Anthem, Me Likey, Life is Beautiful - from the mystery box. I also used one of the felties from the box and a bit of Jenni Bowlin Red Crepe Paper Ribbon from the Mosh Posh February'10 kit. Sassafras alpha, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type and Jenni Bowlin journaling tag from my stash. This LO was based on the Sketchy Thursdays 11.4 sketch:

paper pompom card
I saw this box on ScrapScene and thought the paper pompom would look great on a card too! This birthday card is for the Party Time Tuesday challenge #19: anything goes birthday card.
Papers by Sassafras Lass and Cosmo Cricket; hemp and SRM sticker. The tutorial is on this page. Instead of using a ribbon punch, I used a button hole one and threaded the hemp through them.

swim lessons
As much as we thought about it all summer, we didn't get around to starting my oldest son on swim lessons last year until September... enough to give him a taste before the water got too cold. This year we did better, but I probably won't get around to scrapping those pictures until next summer!
For this layout I used the American Crafts - Heat Wave - packet from the Apron Strings August'10 small kit.
Brads from my stash and paper flowers also from the American Crafts Heat Wave collection were from the Mosh Posh August'10 kit. I based my LO on the following sketch from the Page Maps blog:

summer days
My new "Fall" papers are stewing in the back burner while I finish scrapping summer 2009. Sometimes I wonder why I scrap in chronological order... but every time I tried to scrap out of order all I could think of was the pictures I skipped. So here are a couple more summer LOs - and fall will just have to wait a few more weeks.
For the first LO I used "Me Likey" papers from the Sassafras mystery box.
Creative Imaginations journaling tag, BoBunny alphas, Core'dinations (blue and yellow) and DCWV (green) cardstock from my stash. This LO was based on the following Page Maps blog sketch:
For the next LO I used Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety - papers from my stash.
American Craft cardstock from the Mosh Posh August add-on. October Afternoon Farm Fresh Journal Tag and Thickers from previous kits. Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type, eyelet and hemp from my stash.

Family fun
Here is a layout I made for the Get Picky inspiration challenge #1. I was inspired by the colors and the food theme of the photo they posted.
I used Cosmo Cricket - Togetherness - papers from the Mosh Posh September'10 kit and add-on. I also used a My Mind's Eye - Alphabet Soup - paper that came in that kit and American Craft cardstock from the add-on. Jenni Bowlin Red Crepe Paper Ribbon and October Afternoon Mini Market Alpha Stickers from the Mosh Posh February'10 kit. The BasicGray - June bug - alphas, Fancy Pants buttons, and assorted mini-brads are from my stash.

sweet!
Here is a LO with some Basic Gray - Max & Wiskers - I bought when I was down in Orlando. I followed Lori's advice and tried my hand at accordian flowers. I like the way they looked but I had a hard time making them stick to the paper with their shape intact...
Embellishments and alphas came from previous Mosh Posh kits.

Fall birthday card
I made this card for my sister-in-law (I hope she's not peeking!) to fit the Party Time Tuesday challenge #16: Create a FALL THEMED BIRTHDAY CARD ~ twist is to include a pumpkin or leaf (or both!) and have that birthday greeting/sentiment/wording somewhere on your card front.
I used Bella Blvd papers, stickers, buttons and twine from the October Scrapcetera kit. SRM Stickers sentiment, Cream Core'dinations cardstock and brown DCWV adhesive mat from my stash. I based my card on the Tuesday Trio sketch #38 below and I was inspired by this card by Rea Barthel.
