Cousins

The next set of layouts are from our trip up north in October 2010.

I mixed Jillibean Soup Dutch Mustard and Apple Cheddar (papers, journal spot, alphas, stickers). The heart pins and twine are also Jillibean Soup. I added Glossy Accents to the heart in the center. Other: Bic marker and unknown cardstock.

Hearty Thanks

This week's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo was posted today. The colors matched the Jillibean Soup Apple Cheddar Soup collection very well and I used The Card Kitchen October kit for my card:
From the kit: patterned paper, die-cuts, stickers, mini clothes pins, craft paper bag, green note card, May Arts ribbon. Other: Love My Tapes adhesive fabric tape, SRM sticker sentiment. I stamped the paper bag with a stamp from the Hearty Hearts Backgrounds Stamp Set by SP & Co. using Colorbox watermark ink. And here is this week's color combo:
I hope you can play along with this week's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo! Moreover, SP and Company Stamps is looking for a new design team.If you love stamps, check out the details here.

At the fire station

Here are a couple of layouts from our visit to the fire station last year. On this first one you can see I was picked as a volunteer:
I used the Jillibean - Spotted Owl Soup - papers in the Apron Strings STBB August'11 kit. Cardstock by DCWV, American Crafts Thickers, EK Success Stikosand Glossy Accents.

In the next LO I used the Simple Stories - Elementary - collection I won at The Scrap Review:
I added some BoBunny paper, DCWV cardstock, American Crafts Thickers and glitter brads, baker's twine is from DKMdiva, Tim Holtz spinner, Sakura white gel pen. I rubbed some Antique Linen distress ink (Ranger) on the white ink and twine to mute them a bit.

Cable car ride

I'm the featured designer at Sketches: Creatively Yours this week, so check it out if you have a chance. Also, Ali has a great sketch posted today and the design team did a great job showcasing its versatility!

On a different note I've been wrapping up my Italy 2010 album and here is the last double LO in the book. Now I just need to come up with something for the last page...
Bella Blvd - Sunny Happy Skies - papers from the Apron Strings March'11 STBB kit. I hand cut some of the clouds, popped them up with foam adhesive (3L) and "painted" them with Mod Podge Sparkle. I added some Glossy Accents to the balloons. The Pink Paislee glitter alphas I won from Apron Strings last year. The ribbon and cardstock are also from the kit. I pierced all the way around the LO with the WRMK Sew Easy (Zig Zag) then hand stitched with WRMK floss (orange), adding the ribbon with the stitches. Another great example of not thinking before piercing -- it took hours to stitch that border :)

cupcake card

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I made this card for her:
Circles were cut with a Coluzzle template from Core'dinations Whitewash and American Crafts red cardstock. I twirled strips of the same cardstock and glueed with Mod Podge - Sparkle. The circles were assembled following the Sketch Support add-on sketch #3 and adhered with GlueArts Extreme Squares and U-cutIt foam. Ribbon by Offray, SRM sticker sentiment on the ribbon. The corrugated paper I got in a scrap bag at JoAnns. The card face was assembled on a rectangle scored card base.

New Home card

Some friends of ours are finally making their first house purchase! We are very happy for them and I used the fun card sketch over at Sketches: Creatively Yours by Ann to make them a card:
I used We R Memory Keepers’ Family Keepsakes papers from the Apron Strings March'11 STBB kit. I used GlueArts foam to pop up the tag that came with the kit. Cardstock and green ribbon also from the kit, but the white ribbon and SRM sticker are from my stash.  Here is the sketch:
I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation! I hope you can join us! Also, check out the S:CY Facebook Page!

Celebrate Mom!

It's Party Time Tuesday challenge time! And the theme for this week is Mother's Day! We have Kenny K as our sponsor for the entire month of May! This week I got to play with the Super Mom image - who got a makeover for the occasion:
Background paper by BasicGray (jargon), but you can't see the writing on this photo. October Afternoon - Modern Homemaker - papers, SRM sticker sentiment, Jolee by You embellishments, Jenni Bowlin Studio crepe ribbon, Sakura gel pens, Bic markers, adhesive by Tombow and GlueArts.

If I ever break down and buy some Copics it will be because I need a skin tone other than what I can get with different background papers... any color suggestions?

I hope you can join the Party this week... and don't forget to check out this week's PTT Facebook giveaway - you could win a $5 gift certificate to a store of your choice!

Butterfly celebration

This card is for the Cosmo Cricket/Cards Magazine sketch challenge:
I used Cosmo Cricket papers (Pixie-Licious and Joy Ride), Ready-Set-Chip elements (Pixie-Licious) and Tiny Type alphabet. The pearl is by Creative Imaginations and the cardstock by DCWV. The window was cut with a Coluzzle template and the boarder punch is by EK success. Adhesive: Tombow (liquid), Therm-o-web (foam), Love My tapes (runner).  This card was based on the following sketch:

Here is the inside of my card:
And here is a close-up of the flower I made from the circles of the Pixie-Licious - Fairy Rings - paper:
The flower was assembled on a circle I punched out from the same paper, then mounted on foam adhesive. Then I folded the sides of the circle to hide the foam.

Gelato

Apron Strings Birthday Party Day #23 - LAST ONE: create a layout that uses one of the subway art photos for inspiration. I chose this one (as I thought the pink would add to the challenge):
And here is my take, using the pink, white, red and blue colors:
Crate Paper - Snow Day - craft kit; Bo Bunny - Snowy Serenade - paper; Bazzill cardstock; Pink Paislee title alphas; Adornit mini alphas;Offray ribbon; My Minds Eye journaling tag; Glue Arts adhesive; unknown paper clip; ice cream cone pin by My Little Bit of Whimsy; brads from Eyelet Outlet & Brads.

I'll miss the AS birthday challenges... but Dada is probably relieved that they are done ;)

Good Food

Apron Strings Birthday Party Day #22: scrapbook something you're thankful for. Family and friends are high on my list, but I went for good food.
American Crafts Abode paper, cardstock, Delights flowers and Thickers. Cosmo Cricket Ready Set Chip alphas, we R Memory Keepers aqua floss, Bic Mark It, Glue Arts adhesive (Glue Glider Pro with High Tac cartridge and 3D combo pack). Instead of running through my "Os" I used two "8" and I had to use "3" as I ran out of "e". Photos are from our favorite restaurant in Venice, called 40 Ladroni ("thieves"). We had an authentic Venetian dish, which I can't remember the name but was squid cooked in its ink and polenta.
