Fire Station Visit

Ali has a great sketch posted today at Sketches: Creatively Yours and the design team has done a great job for your inspiration. Here is my interpretation:
These papers are from an old pad of Marcella by K&Co. that I've had forever (5 years?). Hooray for using the stash -- so I can make space for new stuff ;) The papers went perfectly with the Pebbles Chips from the Treehouse collection. Colorbok and American Crafts cardstock, glitter Thickers, Washi tape (thanks to iCopic!), EK Success edge punch, Sakura gel pens. The Colorbok black cardstock mats were inked with black Colorbox ink so the white core wouldn't show. And here is S:CY sketch 20-11:
I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation! I hope you can join us at Sketches: Creatively Yours! Also, check out the S:CY Facebook Page!

Get well wishes

Here is a card I made for a colleague who survived a heart attack on Monday.  He's in his late thirties and this was totally unexpected. My heart goes out to him and his family.
Patterned paper from the Apron Strings April'10 kit packet called Little Yellow Bicycle - Lucky Me; Core'dinations/Jillibean Soup embossed cardstock, Making memories flowers. The brown ribbon I bought from Laurl's Etsy shop. Pearl brad from Eyelet Outlet & Brads.

Smile - SPCC#122

Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo #122 was posted today:

For my card I used papers from the Cosmo Cricket - Snorkel - collection:
The scalloped circles were punched out, then I added random buttons tied with string. I rounded the corners of the journaling tag I used as a sentiment and popped it up on foam adhesive (3L). Here is a photo of the inside:

At the fire station

Here are a couple of layouts from our visit to the fire station last year. On this first one you can see I was picked as a volunteer:
I used the Jillibean - Spotted Owl Soup - papers in the Apron Strings STBB August'11 kit. Cardstock by DCWV, American Crafts Thickers, EK Success Stikosand Glossy Accents.

In the next LO I used the Simple Stories - Elementary - collection I won at The Scrap Review:
I added some BoBunny paper, DCWV cardstock, American Crafts Thickers and glitter brads, baker's twine is from DKMdiva, Tim Holtz spinner, Sakura white gel pen. I rubbed some Antique Linen distress ink (Ranger) on the white ink and twine to mute them a bit.

On a card kick...

I've been making a lot of cards recently... I also have a few layouts to share, but the dreary weather is not allowing good pictures to post...

Here is a card I made for a colleague who is moving to a different state:
Little Yellow Bicycle - Pack Your Bags - paper, Core'dinations cardstock, WRMK floss, Glossy Accents, ColorBox ink, Thickers and Pink Paislee alphas (inside). I used the Sew Easy ZigZag piercer for the stitching. And here is the inside:

More cards

I made two more cards this weekend. The first one is a general purpose card:
I used papers from the Apron Strings July'08 smaller kit: GCD Studios - Lost in Paradise. The tape is from an old Mosh Posh kit and I think it's BasicGray.

The second card is a sympathy card for a friend and colleague that lost his father last week:
EK success wood grain rub-on, Heidi Grace ribbon, Karen Foster brads, unknown cardstock. The image was printed on smooth cardstock then traced with a Sakura glaze pen.

On a more happy note, I'll be staying on the Sketches: Creatively Yours design team for another season. The announcement was posted today.
