Apron Strings Giveaway winner!

My last guest designer project was posted today at the Apron Strings Blog. I made these two cards with scraps from my previous layout and embellishments from the kit:

I didn't add a sentiment because I wanted some all-purpose cards in my stash. I'm donating half my stash of cards for a fundraiser at my son's school, so I might not have a card for every occasion just sitting in my drawer...

I would like to thank everyone for the amazing comments you left on my guest designer posts! I got 20 comments all together and I loved reading them all! I numbered them post by post, starting with the first Apron Strings spot and the STBB kit is going to:

Swimming

It's still swimming season, but these pictures are from last year... I'm still scrapping July 2010, and there are a few layouts before our summer vacation.
I used the Cosmo Cricket - Snorkel - craft kit and Tiny Type. American Crafts cardstock, Pebbles brads and random buttons from my stash. The "sport" badge fell off an old kids sweatshirt. I bought extra-fine crochet thread (Coats & Clark) instead of embroidery floss and I really like the look of it on the buttons; next time I'll try stitching with it...

From my stash: Pink Paislee glitter alphas for the title and Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type words added to the journaling list.

Fish lessons

Lori has another great sketch over at the Apron Strings blog this week. My plan was to join in on 4 Sketches, 20 Days #6, but I completely misread the challenge and instead of replacing "at least two smaller photos for a larger one" I did the opposite. That's what I get for reading the challenge at work and not re-reading before I started the project...
I used the Echo Park - Splash - papers, American Crafts Apricot cardstock, Eyelet Outlet Flip Flop Brads and Creative Impressions White Brads from the August '11 Smaller than a Breadbox kit. Pebbles brads; American Crafts Thickers; Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type; Zig calligraphy pen; Bic Marker; fish eyelets from Eyelet Outlet & Brads. And here is the sketch by Page Maps:

Apron Strings & Giveaway

I'm Guest Designer this month over at the Apron Strings blog. I really love Lori's kits and I get the Smaller than a Breadbox kits through autoship. This month to change things a bit I got to play with the September'11 Bigger Than A Breadbox kit -- and to my immense surprise it included my two absolute favorite spring lines: My Mind's Eye Lime Twist and October Afternoon's Rocket Age! I even disregarded my chronological scrapper habit so I could scrap the pictures from our visit to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum ;)

Here is my first project, which you can also see at the Apron Strings blog today:
October Afternoon - Rocket Age - papers, cardstock, chipboard embellishments, button and journaling tag from the September'11 Apron Strings BTBB kit. The photo mat edges and the chipboard were inked with the Maya Road metallic blue ink pad included in the kit. The American Crafts Thickers came in the Apron Strings October Afternoon Good Cheer kit, and I outlined them with a white gel pen (by Pentel). The stitching was made with the WRMK Sew Easy blanket and original piercing heads; DMC floss from my stash.

To celebrate all the fun I get to have this month at the Apron Strings blog I will be giving away an August '11 Smaller than a Breadbox kit.
Just leave a comment on my Apron Strings Guest Designer posts here and/or at the Apron Strings blog to be eligible for the drawing. The more comments the more chances to win, but one comment per person per post please. I'll announce the winner in my last Apron Strings Guest Designer post at the end of the month :)

Rock Climbing

Here is a layout for the "4 Sketches, 20 Days #2" over at Apron Strings. The challenge was to replace at least one 4x6 photo with two 2x3's. I made a 1-page LO instead of a 2-pager. the small photos were cropped to 2x3 and the larger ones are 4x4.
Background paper is October Afternoon - Seaside - from an Apron Strings blue-plate special. The cardstock is K&Co. and I think the rock paper is too, or maybe DCWV. I can't remember because it's probably 5 years old. DCWV Stitch In Time Alphabet Rub-Ons, sneaker brads by from Eyelet Outlet & Brads, Pentel gel pen, unknown chipboard inked with a Martha Stewart ink pad. And here is this week's sketch, by PageMaps:

Full Cradle

Lori has a great month-long challenge this month called "4 Sketches, 20 Day" over at Apron Strings. Here is this week's sketch, by PageMaps:

Here is my interpretation:
I seem to lack vertical pictures, so I cut two of them to 4x4. Core'dinations cardstock; Sassafrass (Monstrosity & Cherry Delicious) papers, alphas and stitched flowers; Bic marker; Sakura gel pen; adhesive by Therm-o-web and GlueDots.

Curious

Ann has a great LO sketch this week over at Sketches: Creatively Yours. Here is my interpretation; Can you tell I used Halloween papers?
I used Scenic Route - Salem - papers and stickers I won from Apron Strings, plus some leftover BasicGray - Lauderdale - paper from the June 2011 kit and Add On by Sweet Peach Crop Shop. Pink Paislee glitter alphas and chipboard letters came with the Salem kit. The ribbon, Elle's Studio journaling tag, and American Crafts Delights (I changed the button, also by AC) and Small Details came in the Sweet Peach kit. Bazzill cardstock, Bic Marker. I stitched the border with WRMK variegated floss using the Sew Easy piercer.  Here is the sketch 15-11:
As you can see I turned the sketch 90 decrees counterclockwise but kept all the placements the same.

Check out Sketches: Creatively Yours to see the other great projects posted today with the sketch above. S:CY also has a Facebook Page. I hope you can join us!

Not quite right

Here is color combo #115 challenge over at Scrapmaster's Paradise:

I'm not sure I like my card, but I decided to post it anyway. It's one of those cards I set out to do one thing, then started changing it while I was adhering things and in the end I'm not sure the changes were for the better...
The patterned paper is Bella Blvd - Sunny Happy Skies - from the Apron Strings March'11 STBB kit. American Crafts cardstock, Sassafras felttie, BoBunny rub-on, SRM sticker sentiment, and unknown ribbon. I decorated the hot air balloons with Sakura gel pens, which was mistake #1. Mistake 2 was the off-center idea and mistake 3 was the white sentiment. Oh well, there is always the next card...
