cupcake card

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I made this card for her:
Circles were cut with a Coluzzle template from Core'dinations Whitewash and American Crafts red cardstock. I twirled strips of the same cardstock and glueed with Mod Podge - Sparkle. The circles were assembled following the Sketch Support add-on sketch #3 and adhered with GlueArts Extreme Squares and U-cutIt foam. Ribbon by Offray, SRM sticker sentiment on the ribbon. The corrugated paper I got in a scrap bag at JoAnns. The card face was assembled on a rectangle scored card base.

Come join the Party - DT Call!

It's time for a new Party Time Tuesday challenge (and read on for the DT call)! We have another amazing sketch from Stacy this week and two great sponsors! We have 2 Cute Rubber Stamps and iCopic sponsoring us again this week - what a treat! The DT received rubber stamps and Japanese Washi masking tapes to play with so head over to PTT to check out all the creations. Mine is below, I used the Stampavie Penny Johnson - Love Bubbles stamp. I'm not a stamper and this is my first card with a "real stamp" :)
I used Bazzill cardstock for my card base. Echo Park - Playground - papers and stickers, Sassafras Lass flower embellishment. I added some Glossy Accents to the patterned paper to help the "love" stand out. I used Ranger distress ink on watercolor paper to stamp the image, and I just accented some spots with Sakura gel pens. The sentiment is from a Cosmo Cricket - Togetherness - paper, which I taped onto a chipboard tag (unknown). And here is Stacy's sketch:

Soave Castle

Here is another LO of the little Italian Medieval town we visited last year. This LO is for the Apron Strings Sketches on Wednesday challenge:
I used American Crafts cardstocks, October Afternoon - Campfire - papers and buttons, Prima flowers, DMC floss, Bic marker and unknown ribbon. I tore and inked (Ranger) the paper I used for my journaling to give it an aged look. I made a pocket for the tickets and brochure, which added the title too. I used the WRMK Sew Easy piercer for the stitching details. And here is the sketch:
As you can see I inverted the sketch and changed the size of the pictures because I had so many verticle ones I couldn't crop.

Ellie card

This week is card week over at Sketches: Creatively Yours. Ann has a great sketch and here is my card:
I used papers by Sassafras Lass - Ellie's Tale, Bazzill Cocoa cardstock and American Crafts Delight from the Apron Strings May'11 STBB kit. Velvet ribbon, SRM sticker sentiment and Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type from my stash. And here is the S:CY card3 sketch:
I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation! I hope you can join us at Sketches: Creatively Yours! Also, check out the S:CY Facebook Page!

Party for Dad!

It's time for a new Party Time Tuesday challenge! The theme for this week is Father's Day! We have 2 Cute Rubber Stamps and iCopic sponsoring us again this week - a double treat! I got to play with the Up, Up and Away Digital Stamp Image by Heidi Schwoerer and here is what I came up with:
I used Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock for the card base and Karen Foster
Star Spangled Sky paper for background. I painted the circle+heart chipboard (unknown) with a ZIG opaque marker and outlined the heart in red. I also painted some pink Thickers to match and used the same white marker to outline a frame. The image was colored with Sakura gel pens and I added Glossy Accents to make a bubble window. The rubber charm is by October Afternoon - Rocket Age, which I won during their bog hop.

I hope you can join the Party this week!

Medieval Town

I was out of town for the past week and stressed out the week before, so even though I got this LO done before I left it never got posted!
Core'dinations and American Crafts cardstock, Bella Blvd - One Fall Day - paper and sticker elements, Stickles, Thickers and October Afternoon - Campfire - buttons. I poped up the tree stickers by applying them to cardstock, cutting them out and attaching them with foam adhesive. Also, I made the mistake of applying my tape runner to the top side of the booklet page I was adhering (didn't I say I was stressed?) so I "fixed" the mistake by applying a layer of Mod Podge to the page with a brush. I have to say I really liked the effect, so I should remember to do this on purpose sometime...

I hope you get a chance to check out the great sketch Ali has posted at Sketches: Creatively Yours! I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation!

A Summer Party!

It's time for a new Party Time Tuesday challenge! The theme for this week is Summer Birthday! We have 2 Cute Rubber Stamps and iCopic sponsoring us this week - what a treat! I got to play with the Butterfly Garden Digital Stamp Image by Heidi Schwoerer and here is what I came up with:
I used a Cosmo Cricket paper from the Pixie-Licious collection, American Crafts cardstock, AdornIt mini alphas, Offray ribbon, EK success scallop edge punch, WRMK aqua floss, DMC white floss. Unknown: felt flowers and buttons. The window was cut with a Coluzzle template and the stitching around the window was pierced with a Crafter's Workshop template. Here is a closeup look inside:
I printed the digi directly on the card base before scoring. To color the image I used ZIG markers and Sakura pens, then I added Glossy Accents to the head and body, and Dimond Stickles to the wings. The pens bled into the Stickles, but I liked the effect.

I hope you can join the Party this week!

power nap

Here is another layout from our lunch in Vicenza. My little one was so tiered he fell asleep at the table waiting for the food.
Supplies: cardstock - DCWV; patterned paper: LilyBee (Catching Fall), BasicGray (Basics); alpha stickers - Pink Paislee; chipboard stickers - American Crafts; adhesive - GlueArts. This LO was based on the Sketch Support one-page sketch #2. I turned the sketch 90 degrees counter-clockwise and added 2 layers for background. I increased length of paper strips to 5" and assembled different widths on a striped paper base. I removed original journaling block and substituted the two 3x2 photos with my journaling.

Vicenza

Ali has a beautiful sketch posted today at Sketches: Creatively Yours and the design team has added their own personal touches for your inspiration. I expanded this week' sketch for a double-page layout:

Our trip to Italy was not all sunny skies, as I sprained my foot on our last day in Venice and spent the day we had in Padova at the ER (I'm trying to decide if I should scrap that - without pictures). But sitting at an outdoors cafe in Vicenza, it was really hard to think the trip was completely spoiled - regardless of being on crutches for a week! For this LO I used We R MemoryKeepers - Peep - papers from the  Apron Strings April'11 STBB kit. K&Co. Layered Bright Flowers (left) are also from the kit, while the K&Co. chipboard flower (right) is from my stash. Bazzill cardstock, Thickers, AdornIt mini alphas, Glue Arts adhesive, EK Success scallop border punch, unknown jewels, map from Rick Steves' Italy 2010.Here is the S:CY sketch 08-11:

I expanded the sketch for a 2-pager, so my photo block has 6 photos instead of 4. I also increased the size of the top row of photos and had to adjust the sketch accordingly. I kept the title strip, but moved it behind the photo block. However, the bottom strip was ignored because things got too crowded.

Check out Sketches: Creatively Yours to see the other great projects posted today with the sketch above. S:CY also has a Facebook Page. I hope you can join us!
